Kabardino-Balkar Republican puppet theatre

Special creative success was brought to the theater by performances: “The Day of Kutasik and Kutilka” by I. Pegra, staged by Honored Artist of North Ossetia-Alania, the main director of the puppet theater of North Ossetia-Alania Gaev M. Ye., Production designer A.Zh. Khachetlov; P. Mancheva’s “Golden Girl” staged by Honored Artist of Dagestan, the main director of the puppet theater of Dagestan R. Shamsutdinov, production designer A.Zh. Hachetlov.

One of the creative successes of the theater was the production of the play “The Good Lion” by A. Pravdina and V. Alekseyev in the Kabardian and Russian languages. The production director is People’s Artist of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, former main director of the Puppet Theater of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic A.S. Shereuzhev, production designer V. Kh. Shkhatsev.

Despite all the difficulties, the theater, serving the whole republic, constantly conducts great work on the moral, aesthetic and spiritual education of the younger generation. Puppet theater takes an active part in the program of the children’s fund of the republic. At the same time, special attention is paid to boarding schools, showing their charitable performances.

Within the framework of the inter-parliamentary agreement, measures were developed to develop and strengthen cultural ties with the republics of the North Caucasus. The Republican Puppet Theater has repeatedly visited tours in Karachaevo-Cherkessia, Dagestan, Stavropol Territory.

The theater never stands aside from the theatrical and public life of the republic and takes an active part during the International Theater Day, the regional festival of comedic artists of the People’s Artist of Russia Ali Tukhuzhev and other events of various levels.

Many times the theater was awarded with the diplomas of the Ministry of Culture of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, more than once was awarded the prize of the Union of Theater Workers of the KBR in various nominations.

Since 1990, the theater has been directed by Vladimir Salmanovich Shumakhov, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Honored Artist of the KBR, Labor Veteran.
